My Story

Remember when Vine launched, the Harlem Shake went viral, and Snapchat turned down a $3B acquisition offer from Facebook?

That was in 2013 when I started my career in social media at a digital marketing agency in San Diego. I went from being the only employee wanting and willing to learn Meta ads to managing millions of dollars in ad spend.

I quickly moved up to Manager of the social media team. Later, I expanded my skills as a Digital Marketing Manager at a tech startup where I developed expertise in blog writing, advertising, conducting focus groups, building ambassador programs, and more.

With a desire to help more businesses succeed on social media, I started Kellen McAvoy, Inc. in 2017. I’ve had the privilege of working with a range of clients including established brands like Auberge Resorts, TCBY, Mrs. Fields, and Liberty Military Housing as well as new industry disruptors like Eterno Skincare and Lulani Faucets.

When I’m not creating content, I enjoy staying active with my family by taking weekend trips to the beach, walking the neighborhood with our dog Kona, and visiting the local parks with our son. Like the frequent algorithm updates, he keeps us on our toes.
